Chocolate Caramel Muffins
Chocolate muffin with a caramel surprise!
Ingredients
- 1¾ cups flour
- ¼ cup cocoa powder
- 4 tsp baking powder
- ¾ cup sugar
- 100 grams unsalted butter
- 1¼ cups milk
- 1 egg lightly beaten
- ¾ cup sweetened condensed milk
Instructions
- preheat oven to 200°C and lightly grease muffin tins
- sift flour, cocoa powder and baking powder in a bowl and create a well in the middle
- combine milk, melted butter and egg in another bowl
- pour liquid into the dry ingredient well and mix
- half fill muffin tins with muffin batter
- place a tablespoonful of condensed milk on top
- spoon over remaining muffin batter
- bake for 15 minutes or until muffins spring back when touched lightly in centre
- stand for 5 minutes; lift out onto a rack to cool
- serve dusted with icing sugar if desired
